Character Education
Huskies Have Hart

Hart introduced its character education program, Huskies Have Hart, during the 2008-09 school year. Hart's character ed program dovetails with the school district and city's Pleasanton Community of Character program.

The six key character traits are respect, integrity, responsibility, compassion, self-discipline and honest. We encourage students, staff and parents to incorporate these positive traits into everything they do.

Hart's character education committee meets monthly. Meetings are open to any students, parents and staff who would like to take part. The committee will look at ways to promote positive character traits.

Hart TV, the school's classroom video news show, includes a Character Corner segment. Each week, a teacher, staff member, student or parent will talk about a topic related to character. Each segment repeats for one full week.

Each month, Hart students will be recognized by staff for exemplifying that month's highlighted character trait. Those students will be honored with Hart Husky awards.
