This chairperson organizes and works with the Executive Board to promote the PFA at Back To School Night so parents can see the benefits that the PFA organization brings to thier children and the communitypublicize what the PFA is involved in at our school. Sneak Preview where everyone comes to register for school, pay for PTA membership and lunches and to meet their new teachers! This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday, August 9th from 8:30-10:30 (last names A-L) and 10:30 (last names M-Z).

This chairperson and committee are responsible for providing luncheons for our wonderful teachers and staff, and also provide lunches for guest speakers as needed. These luncheons are generally held at the beginning of the year, around the New Year’s holiday, and then again at the end of the year. In addition, this committee provides snacks and goodies for the Principals coffee, and organizes the Teacher Appreciation week.

This chairperson creates and maintains a database of volunteers that are gathered during the registration process and during the school year. This person also ensure we have volunteers for a wide variety of activities throughout the year, providing scheduling help as requested, and ensuring that volunteer opportunities are communicated via our weekly emails

This chairperson is responsible for keeping our website fresh and exciting! No daily activity ios required, as there is a staff person at the school with whom you will be working. If you have web design experience and would like to help out with the site, please consider thsi great opportunity!

This person is responsible for the weekly email communications that are sent out during the school year. We use a very easy program that includes a template, and this job is perfect for someone who has a gift for writing! It is also a great way to stay “in the know!"

Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation, a community-based organization, exists to enhance learning experiences for students of the Pleasanton Unified School District through a partnership of business, education, and the community. This person would serve on the PPIE as our liaison. The PPIE does many wonderful things for our students by providing opportunities for both student grants and teacher grants, through a variety of wonderful events.

This committee works with the staff at the school to esnure our new studnets and their parents are given a warm HART HUSKY welcome. This may include a new parent principal's coffee, and welcoming the new parents by answering quetsions and providing information.

This chairperson acts as liaison to our wonderful HART Leadership team, helping them wiht thier events and activities throughout the year.

This chairperson handles any press releases going to the local media, and will keep a historical scrapbook of any press on HART! If you have school event information or pictures that you want to submit, please contact the chairperson listed above. All items for press releases must be submitted ten days prior to the desired release date.

This committee assists our staff with students or fmailies that might need a little extra help along the way, from everything such as school supplies, to bus tickets, or anything else that may be needed.

This event is the annual movie night, usually scheduled in May. Volunteer shifts are two hours long at night and you can help out with food service, cashier or bingo cards. Look for a special sign up form for this event in your child’s folder in January.

This chairperosn assists the PE department in the swing dance competition, by provdiing support and volunteers as needed.

This chairpersonoson organizes the exciting 8th Grade Promotion celbration! They always need a few 7th grade parents to help the night of the clebration too!

The Scholastic Book Fairs are held each year in September and then again in May. This chairperson will work with the school staff to ensure they have volunteers,a nd that the book fair is publicized. The book fair is a wonderful way to purchase books, reference materials and other items at good prices!

This chairperson will work to implement the Go Green Initiative. This is a simple, comprehensive program designed to create a culture of environmental responsibility on school campuses across the nation. Founded in 2002, the Go Green Initiative unites parents, students, teachers and school administrators in an effort to make real and lasting changes in their campus communities that will protect children and the environment for years to come.
