Turkey Trot Results & Thanks

Hart's annual Turkey Trot Fun Run was a resounding success, drawing more than 100 student runners to compete in this fun and friendly event.

The race route is less than a mile on Hart's outdoor track and field. Students compete based on which grade they're in -- boys against boys, girls against girls. Students competed for frozen turkeys and an array of really cool gift cards.

Math teacher Jason Oswalt was a great sport at this event, setting the pace for students by running the races with them -- and he kept up with all of them!

Turkey Trot Coin Drive
One component of the annual Turkey Trot is a coin drive to benefit a charity. Principal Steve Maher chose the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as the charity in honor of Hart students -- current, former and future -- who live with juvenile or type 1 diabetes.

Hart students donated $876.56 for this year's coin drive. Nearly $135 of that money came from the $1 entry fee for the Turkey Trot.

Hart gets to keep 10 percent of what was raised, so the school netted $87.66 thanks to the coin drive.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Turkey Trot Fun Run and coin drive such a huge success.
