Mr. Maher Retiring in June

Dear Hart Community,

After 40 years of service with the Pleasanton Unified School District, it is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement at the end of this school year.

I have enjoyed all of my years in education, and I will always treasure the years I spent at Hart Middle School. Due to the warmth, affection and support of the staff, parents and students, I have always looked forward to coming to Hart every day.

In these difficult financial times, my retirement will afford the opportunity for one of our fine, aspiring administrators to lead Hart. Although I will miss all of you and remember you with fond memories, I am ready for the next phase of my life. I have eight grandchildren, and I look forward to spending more time with them and the rest of my family.

I feel confident about the abilities of many junior administrators in Pleasanton and their ability to lead Hart in a positive direction. My goal is to work with the incoming administrator to ensure a smooth transition. Although I will not be the principal, I hope to continue working with the Hart community and the Pleasanton Unified School District.

Thank you for all of your support throughout the years.

Sincerely,

Steve Maher
