High School Scheduling Info

It's already time for 8th-graders and their parents to start thinking about next year's high school class schedules.

Foothill and Amador Valley high schools have important informational meetings in January for parents whose students will be freshmen in August. Parents of incoming freshmen have a lot to learn this year because for the first time ever, they'll be using the school district's Zangle online system to request class schedules.

Foothill High School

Thursday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. in Foothill's small gym -- Parents of incoming freshmen are invited to a one-hour informational program. Parents will meet key Foothill staff members and get an overview of the high school program (academic and co-curricular), support services and opportunities for parent involvement.

Thursday, Jan. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in Foothill's small gym -- A brief informational meeting for parents of GATE students will give parents an idea of the advanced placement and honors classes offered.

Thursday, Jan. 20 from 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in Foothill's small gym & MPR -- Parents will be broken into four separate groups so that Foothill counselors can explain the new process for using the online Zangle system for students to request freshmen class schedules. These are informational workshops only. Parents will not be filling out class schedules at these workshops. Students have until midnight Feb. 6 to sign up for classes online using Zangle.

Parents are assigned specific workshops to attend based on the first letter of their last name.
