Principal's Perspective

WOW! Time is moving fast. We have made it to the midpoint of our school year with our second semester beginning on January 25.

Girls basketball games continue, and our wrestling and volleyball seasons are about to begin. Hart continues to meet the needs of our students in a variety of ways. Our before- and after-school homework club is in full swing. We will begin the second session of our organizational classes in early February. If your child is in need of academic
assistance, please contact your child’s guidance counselor.

Parents, please check with your students daily to make sure assignments are completed and turned in. Our Zangle Parent Connection is available for you to monitor your child’s progress online. Students may also access their Zangle information using their own access codes through the new Zangle Student Connection.

STAR testing is just around the corner. Our teachers have been working with students throughout the first semester to prepare for the state assessments and will continue through the May testing. One way parents can help is to make sure that your student gets plenty of rest and eats a healthful breakfast before coming to school. Please try not to schedule any appointments during state testing. Statistics show that student test scores are better when children test with the class rather than during makeup testing sessions. The STAR testing schedule will be available on our website mid-February.

I appreciate the importance our Hart families place on their students’ education. While many of our students have achieved great success, it is our parents who have instilled the value of strong work ethic, perseverance and pride. We thank you for supporting Hart during the first semester of the school year and look forward to working with you in months to come. Please let us know what we can do to help your child make the most of their middle school experience.

Warmest Regards,
Terry Conde
