Welcome Rally & Walk-A-Thon

More than 100 enthusiastic students showed up after school Thursday to celebrate the start of the new school year with Hart's second annual Welcome Rally and Walk-A-Thon.

Students were encouraged to raise money by getting supporters to make flat or per-lap donations. Figures are still being tallied, but it looks as if our awesome students will bring in a decent chunk of change for the P.E. program.

P.E. teachers Dan Fenton and Tim Santich grilled 300 hot dogs for students hungry after running laps in the afternoon heat. Students also devoured eight gigantic watermelons, nicely sliced up by our helpful volunteers.

It's never too late to donate. If you'd like to make a tax-deductible donation to our P.E. department, please drop your donation at the front office. Students who got per-lap donations are reminded to collect donations during the weekend and turn them in at school on Tuesday.

* PRIZES * Students who collected donations are eligible for fun prizes that can be picked up during lunch periods on Tuesday. Students who earned gift cards may also pick up those cards during lunch Tuesday.

Thank you to the many volunteers who made this event possible, especially Hart's hard-working P.E. teachers, eager leadership students, talented cheerleaders and dedicated parent volunteers.
