History Day

More than two dozen dedicated eighth-graders took part in this year's school-level History Day competition with projects from 10 students chosen to advance to the county competition.

This year's theme is Leadership & Legacy in History. Students were challenged to create projects that best represent that theme. The projects were created individually, by two-person teams or groups and judged at school Friday.

"You can be very proud of all the eighth-graders who participated with no other objective than to advance to county, just for fun," teacher Anne Matarrese-Everton said. "We had a dedicated team of judges to evaluate each and every (project) thoroughly."

The county contest will be held March 14 at the Oakland Museum of California.
