Hart Wrestler Wins Tournament Match

Cal Dutrow, one of three captains for Hart's wrestling team, pinned his opponent to win his duals match at the first-ever Best in the West wrestling team duals tournament held April 19 at Granada High School in Livermore.

Cal was the only Hart wrestler chosen to take part in this regional event for eighth-graders. Cal was nominated by his coaches and ultimately chosen to take part by Coach Ken Coburn of Livermore's Christiansen Middle School. The 8th-graders were split into two teams -- the blue team coached by Foothill's Bennie LaFever and the red team coached by Granada's Clark Conover.

Cal competed in the 175-pound weight class. This most recent win brings Cal's season record to 15 wins and two losses. As a seventh-grader, Cal had a 25-2 record.

Congratulations, Cal, for three great years at Hart! Good luck at Foothill!
