Diversity Week at Hart Next Week, March 20-24

Monday, 3/20/17- African Dance in PE classes. Kelsey Hartman, a current Hart teacher, who is certified in dance, will be conducting dance workshops in all P.E. classes. All students will attend their classes on a regular bell schedule.

 

Tuesday, 3/21/17- Ability Awareness Labs in all Science classes. All students will attend their classes on a regular bell schedule.

 

Wednesday, 3/22/17- Diversity Day and International Fair. On this day, students will be on a special bell schedule and will attend all activities with their advisement period.  There are 3 rotations to the day with small breaks in between. The rotations are:

  1. Cultural Performance – Students will watch a cultural performance from high school students and the Hart Band.

  2. Talent Show – Hart Student performers showcase talents.

  3. Windows and Mirrors video –This video showcases human diversity with regard to family, age, gender, class, religion, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity.  The video touches on all aspects of diversity, and underscores one of our district’s fundamental goals of respecting and valuing all people.

 

Thursday, 3/23/17- Math Word-Problem Challenge in all math classes. All students will attend their classes on a regular bell schedule.

 

Friday, 3/24/17- ELA Reflection Activity. All students will attend their classes on a regular bell schedule.
