Congratulations to Hart 8th-grader Omar Sajjad for qualifying to compete in the California State Geography Bee in April.
Hart students in all three grade levels took part in preliminary rounds for the school-level geograhy bee competition. Two dozen students who came out tops in their history classes competed for the honor of representing Hart at the state bee.
Omar took a written qualifying test to make it to the state-level competition, which will be held April 3 at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento. He is among 100 students in grades 4-8 who will compete at the state level.
The top geography student at the state contest will advance to the National Geograhic Bee contest in Washington, D.C.
Good luck at state, Omar!
