Student Honored for Respect

Congratulations to 8th-grader Georgia Sheppard for being recognized for exhibiting the character trait respect.
The school district's personal development committee gives monthly recognition to students and staff members based on the character traits touted by the district -- responsibility, compassion, self-discipline, honesty, respect and integrity.
Georgia was nominated for this recognition by German teacher Manja Benadjaoud.
Georgia "is a very kind student," Benadjaoud wrote in her nomination. "I have never heard her saying a bad thing about someone else or laughing about someone else. She is a very open-minded student who does not judge other people or cultures, but accepts and tolerates their opinions and beliefs. Georgia also exemplifies the basic rules of politeness, like greeting and thanking others, that so many other students seem to have forgotten. She never complains and always puts forth her best."
Georgia was recognized at the May 12 school board meeting.
Congratulations, Georgia!
