Mr. A is Retiring

Dennis Aquilina is retiring this year, leaving behind a lasting legacy in music education at the Pleasanton schools. For 19 years Mr. A has been transforming students from mastering “Hot Cross Buns” to performing at Carnegie Hall in just a couple of years. And before that he spent 5 years leading Amador Valley High School marching bands to multiple championships.
We invite students, alumni, parents, colleagues and friends to come by to celebrate Mr. A’s tremendous contribution to Pleasanton’s music education and to wish him well in his retirement.

In light of recent tragic events, we feel it would be appropriate to cancel our Hart Open House this Thursday, May 9. We continue to celebrate and cherish all of the incredible work our teachers and students have done this year, and we will have many more opportunities to do so.

8th Grade Leis for Sale Now!

Hart's Leis are available to order on Future Fund for $28 each where they can be paid by credit card. Families can also print the order form from Future Fund to buy multiple leis at a discounted rate ($25 each) or to pay with cash or check. Forms need to be returned to the office or Mrs. Alcorn's mailbox by May 10. All leis will be delivered right before promotion on the basketball courts to advisement class teachers. They will include any notes provided from our families.

Bike To School Day

On Thursday, May 9 we will be celebrating Bike to School Day, kids riding their bikes, scooter or skateboard to school on that day, and receive a small freebie.
We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help with this fun activity from around 8:00-8:45am, please contact Mrs. Yu if you can help. Volunteers must have clearance by the district.

ANGST Film Screenings

Parents and guardians are invited to the presentation and panel discussion on April 24, 7 pm. Doors open at 6:45 pm. Panel discussion at 7:45 pm. Local mental health professionals, PUSD MSW, Hart counselor(s) and Mrs. Heller will be leading this panel.
On April 30, students will have the opportunity to watch this film during the school assembly with the opportunity for Q & A with the panel after their screening. Opt out forms will be made available by Hart administration.

Changes to providing Student Score Reports to parents/guardians.

The California Department of Education has developed a new way to share student scores for CAASPP and ELPAC in 2019. All State Assessment Student Score Reports will be available electronically through the Parent Portal better known as Q, instead of mailed as hard copy reports. As of March 1, Student Score Reports for the previous three years of CAASPP and the past year of ELPAC are available in the same parent portal. To read he full notice click on the headline.

You are Invited to Middle School Mania 2019

Pleasanton's three Middle Schools (Hart, Harvest Park, and Pleasanton MS) have joined efforts to celebrate our very first Middle School Mania. Middle School Mania is coming up on April 26. It is a 3-school event, the first in a decade, where students from all 3 middle schools can celebrate the end of the school year together! It is from 4-5:30 at PMS. Tickets are $5 and will include a snack, water, and 3 games, because it is Carnival themed. There will be games like you see at the Pleasanton Fair, along with cotton candy, popcorn, Porky's Pizza, and ice cream. Come buy your tickets at the student store starting this Wednesday 17-24. Get your ticket early, we are only selling 75 per school!

Make a Difference Awards

MAD Awards were established to provide an opportunity for families to acknowledge individuals who have gone “above and beyond” to make a difference in the life of their special child.
