MathCounts is a fun and challenging nationwide math program for middle school students. Hart's MathCounts club aims to inspire student excellence and confidence through a fun and challenge math program that extends beyond classroom knowledge. The club encourages students to improve their math skills in critical thinking and problem solving.

The club aspect of the program is a math enrichment initiative providing the structure and activities needed to encourage the formation of math clubs within schools. It is designed to increase enthusiasm for math and to engage students using a variety of math activities.

The competition aspect is a national middle school coaching and competitive mathematics program that promotes mathematics achievement through a series of fun and engaging "bee"-style contests.
